Description:The stadium lay between Clough Street, Mount Pleasant and Sun Street in Shelton. The camera is looking northwards from the main stand and finish line area; the large building outside the stadium is Pepper's Commercial garage on Clough Street. The stadium hosted both greyhound racing and speedway until closed after 35 years in 1963. In the foreground are the racing floodlights. On the 1898 map the area occupied by the stadium was a marl hole and a brick and marl works known as Tinkersclough. Today it is a commercial and business park.
