Description:The Moorcroft factory on Sandbach Road in Cobridge with the winding gear of Sneyd Colliery in the background. William Moorcroft sold his art pottery to prestigious shops in London (Harrods and Liberty) and New York (Tiffany & Co.) and moved production to Sandbach Road in 1913. The works were built with the aid of money provided by Liberty's of London. The structure was one of the first single storey factories to be built in the Potteries very different to traditional cramped potworks which had to move clay and ware up and down stairs. Designed like an artists studio, the factory produced Florian Ware.

Of the kilns, only the bottle oven rising out of the building in the centre remains. This is a grade II listed structure and is only surviving circular updraught kiln which has no hovel (the bottle shaped brick structure built to fully enclose the oven) at ground floor level.
