Description:The camera is looking north over Westport Lake towards the site of Talke Chemical Works. In the background is the higher ground of Yeld Hill and Chatterley. The Talke Chemical works inn the centre of the photograph produced sulphuric acid. To the right is the chimney and engine house alongside the Trent & Mersey Canal. In between the two is the site of the sewage works. Today the industrial buildings have disappeared.
