Description:Bleak Hill works was at the bottom of Orgreave Street (previously named Bleak Street), off Waterloo Road. Warburton Street ran from left to right across the front of the works. Behind the works is the spoilt tip for Sneyd Colliery. Bleak Hill works was built by Peter Warburton in the early 19th century and had a number of occupiers, latterly Swinnerton's. The works has been demolished and the site is now Camoys Court, sheltered housing. The area in the foreground was Parker Street (later Gilchrist Street), an area of 19th century terraced housing being redeveloped for modern housing. On the left off Orgreave Street are mid 19th century houses and the Bleak Inn public house, since demolished and now a row of bungalows.
