Description:The camera is looking eastwards from St Paul's Churchyard towards the centre of Burslem. Hall Street runs away from the centre of the picture towards the tower of St Joseph's Catholic Church. The cluster of ovens and chimney belong to Newcastle Street Pottery. The east end of St Paul's Church (now demolished) is on the right hand edge of the picture.
The houses to the left of Hall Street date from the last twenty years of the 19th Century, those to the right are earlier.
