Description:A Samuel Schellink, Rozenburg porcelain eggshell vase with purple iris design. Signed Rozenburg den Haag 266. Sam Schellink (1876-1958) was a self-taught artist who began his career in Utrecht. In 1892 he moved to The Hague and joined N.V. Haagsche Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg as a painter apprentice. He became well-known as a painter of their eggshell porcelain. He remained with Rozenburg until 1914 when they were declared bankrupt.
