Description:Preface

The preface makes references to the repeal of the Combination Acts in 1824 and the amendments in 1825.

The organisation expresses its gratitude to the government for being allowed to legally form the union.

Wood's hand-written comments

Wood writes;

We have Revised this in 1829 and we find we have been mislead by our Liberal State Politicians.

We have abandoned it all and are sorry for the mischief we have done
.

Where the preface explains that the organisation will improve the welfare of the members he writes;

No a curse and misery to Mr and Man.

He goes on to claim that the business of the union is;

to ruin both Master and Servent, this is proved after 3 years trial and the whole combination is now abandoned. We have seen the pannic [sic] of 25 and 1826 which has shown the effect of this...
