Description:The Ellgreave Pottery was part of Wood & Sons and manufactured earthenware, specialising in teapots and "fancies". The pottery was off Ellgreave Street in Burslem, this photograph shows the back of the works from Aitken Street. The designer Charlotte Rhead worked for the Ellgreave Pottery who marketed her work as "Lottie Rhead Ware". In continuous production from 1921, the company closed in 1981. the buildings in the photograph still stand although no longer part of the pottery industry. The car in the foreground is the van version of the popular Ford Anglia saloon car manufactured inn the 1960s.
