Description:Earthenware bowl. Height 135mmWorming was achieved by using a three-chambered slip-bottle, patented in 1811, which allowed several colours of slip to be applied at once. The slip-bottle had a hollow quill from each chamber and the potter either blew into the bottle or poured the slip out onto the pot.A series of over-lapping three-coloured drops of slip produced the wormed pattern. The jugs, bowls and pepper pot were excavated at Burslem Market Place in 1998.
