Date:1900 - 1901 (c.)

Description:This small hotel stands on the corner of Edensor Road and Willow Row, just outside Longton. The proprietor stands with her family for the portrait outside what must have been Longton’s smallest hotel.

In the early 1980’s the hotel became a pub called Shoestrings. It was colloquially known as "Eddie's" after the private detective "Eddie Shoestring", the lead character in TV drama "Shoestring", which aired in 1979 and 1980.
