Description:Paragon China Works on Sutherland Road. The works were operated by Aynsley & Irving from 1897, and was initially called Star China. They specialised in breakfast and tea bone china ware exporting to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Over the name board are three coats of arms: the Royal Warrants of Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II.
This photograph was taken from the end of Landon Street, across Sutherland Road. The entrance gateway has been demolished but the right half of the building still stands although no longer as a pottery producer.
