Description:James Kent's Old Foley Pottery on King Street. Foley is a small district sandwiched between Fenton and Longton and there was a pottery here in the eighteenth century. The works, now demolished, was between King Street and the Stoke Derby railway line on the corner of Foley Road (now Sidings Place). On the extreme left hand edge of the photograph are the Melbourne and Phoenix Works, further along King Street towards Longton.
James Kent operated Old Foley pottery from 1897 to round 2006. The Old Foley Pottery was demolished around this time and the company operated from the neighbouring Foley China Works. By 2010 Foley pottery had been demolished.
