Description:Fenton Manor Station was on the old Biddulph Valley line and Leek branch of North Staffordshire Railway. The station was on Manor Street (then named Albert Street), just off Victoria Road. The line passes under Victoria Road (seen crossing the middle of the photograph) by a short, 100 metre tunnel just beyond the end of the platforms. This photograph was taken from the station bridge, which still crosses the now dismantled line, looking north towards the tunnel. The isolated house to the right still stands on Manor Street and is now a shop.
Fenton Manor opened in 1889, the station closed in 1956. The next station down the line was Bucknall and Northwood.
The middle of the photograph is dominated by Berry Hill Collieries spoil tip. Just beyond the tunnel, the chimneys belong to J Hewitt & Sons and Fenton Low Brickworks.
