Description:This was the view northwards from between the allotment gardens that were next to Heron Cross primary schools, just north of Claud Street. Just above the fence is the route of the Stoke to Derby railway line with Fenton Station on the right. The large building in the centre, just over the railway was the Opal China Works of Hughes & Son. To the left is the tower of Christ Church, Fenton and beyond the Berryhill Colliery tip (now landscaped). On the right hand side are surface buildings and winding gear of Glebe Collieries and Brickworks.
