In the distance is Lichfield Street bridge. Charles Meakin built and operated the Eastwood Works from 1887 until its sale in 1958. It is now part of Emma Bridgewater's works on Lichfield Street. Imperial Pottery Works was one of Johnson Brothers three works in this part of Hanley, flanking the Caldon Canal. The works mainly produced tableware, was demolished by 2005 and is now the site of Waterside Primary School.
