Description:The Views is an early 19th century house in extensive grounds, just to the south of Penkhull New Road close to Penkhull Green. A grade II listed building, it was the birthplace of Oliver (later Sir) Lodge the physicist, pioneer of the wireless telegraph and inventor of the spark plug. The house was later the home of the footballer Sir Stanley Matthews.
It was originally two Georgian house which were later combined.
