Description:The Art Deco buildings of Thistley Hough School seen from the corner of Newcastle Lane and Thistley Hough. Opened in 1938 as a grammar school for girls, taking pupils from Longton Grammar School and Hanley high School, it was built in Art Deco style. Most of the school is in a style known as "Streamline Moderne", with long horizontal lines and sweeping curves. These buildings were demolished in 2011 and a new school built on the same site. It is known today as Thistley Hough Academy.
