Description:A close up view of the rear of one of the houses, Number 12 "Rosemount", on the edge of The Villas development in Stoke. The photograph was taken from Hunter's Way, looking over the fence towards Boothen. Like much of The Villas, the house is Italianate in style: stucco covered brickwork, pitched clay pantiled roof and square towers. The estate was developed by the Stokeville Building Society, especially constituted to aid the building of superior houses. Rosemount is an example of a "first class house" built on higher ground for the Stoke pottery manufacturer George Jones. It is one of the largest houses in The Villas development.
