Description:This is the view south eastwards down Chamberlain Avenue from the corner of Hunter's Way. At the bottom of the step bank is London Road in Stoke and Boothen beyond. In the floor of the valley are the terraced houses and factories in Mount Pleasant, the Trent & Mersey Canal and the main railway line. The large works to the left is the California Engineering works. In the far distance is the higher ground in Fenton. The valley floor is now occupied by the A500 (Queensway). The lower part of Chamberlain Avenue had been built by the 1920s, but the upper part and Hunter's Way dates from the 1930s.
