Description:The camera is looking south from the down side platform along the down line towards Stoke Station. Etruria Station was opened in 1848, extended with the coming of the Loop Line in the 1870s and finally closed to passengers in 2005. By 2008 all traces of the station had been removed. Etruria had an island platform built beneath, and with access from, Etruria Road.
In the background is the 1950s building of Twyford's Etruria Works. The building on the extreme right hand edge of the photograph is part of Wenger's Ceramic Colour and Chemical Works (with its own siding). Both of these factories were on Garner Street.
The 15 sign between the lines is a speed restriction. The platforms were cleared by 2008 to straighten the track and allow trains to run at over 80mph through the former station.
