Description:Ephraim Street runs westwards off Lichfield Street in Hanley. On the right hand side is part of the large Eastwood Sanitary Ware works of George Howson & Sons. These works extended southwards to Clifford Street and down to the Caldon Canal. The bottle ovens on the right are part of George Howson & Sons works.
The Johnson Brothers Eastwood Pottery sign can be seen at the bottom of Ephraim Street, on Lichfield Street. This is now the Emma Bridgwater Pottery. The Eastwood name was used by a number of potteries in this Eastwood area of Hanley. The pottery buildings have been largely demolished.
