Description:This is a view south along the canal. Westport Lake is off to the right, on the left is the rear of Wood's pottery. the buildings have all been cleared and the are now used for light industry and food processing. This area on the left bank of the Trent & Mersey Canal in Longport has been the site of pottery works since the 1770s. John Brindley and later the Davenport family and Thomas Hughes developed the Longport Pottery (later the Unicorn Pottery). Arthur Wood & Sons occupied the northern part of the site with the Bradwell Pottery.
