Description:This photograph shows the rear of the Price & Kensington National Teapots factory works, also known as the Top Bridge Works, on the Trent & Mersey Canal. The front of the works is on Newcastle Street in Longport. As a whole, the works is a grade II listed building, with a mix of historic buildings and works with a large bottle kiln The tall chimney and the kiln are landmarks along the canal. Price and Kensington's potworks is an early nineteenth century brick and tile two storey factory with workshops and warehouses on the canal. Along with the Spode factory, this works is the earliest surviving example of a fire proofed factory in the pottery industry.

Davenport & Co first used the site in the 1790s, the Price Brothers moved to the Top Bridge Works in 1934 and joined with Kensington Potteries in 1962.
