Description:The view north towards Tunstall over the Scotia Bank fireclay pit. The pit belonged to the Cobridge Brick & Marl Company. Their main site was alongside Leek Road, the pit east of Scotia Road was a second site which later had a modern continuous oil fired kiln making "common" bricks.
In the centre distance is the copper domed roof of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Queen's Avenue in Tunstall. The line of houses just beyond the pit are on Huntilee Road, Tunstall. The factory building to the left is probably part of Dudson's Scotia Road works. The pit has been infilled and reclaimed and is now part of Scotia park.
