Description:This is a view southwards along Sandbach Road close to the North Road crossroads, with its traffic lights on amber. Beyond the junction on the right is the pottery of W. Moorcroft Ltd. with its bottle kiln. At the far end is the junction with Leek New Road. The houses before the cross roads on the right (now demolished) date from the mid 19th century, those on the left (and still standing) are from the 1880s.
William Moorcroft set up his works in 1913, choosing a site that overlooked Cobridge Park and alongside the Potteries Loop Line. His son, Walter Moorcroft, has continued the business.
