Description:The camera is looking south west along Louise Street from close to its junction with High Lane. At the bottom is Lorne Street and the Port Vale FC ground (Vale Park). The tops of three floodlights are just visible by the chimney pots.
Only the very bottom and the very top of Louise Street was built by 1899. The rest of the houses date from the very early 20th Century. On the extreme left is a traditional red telephone box, probably a K6 introduced in the 1930s. Parked outside is an Austin Mini Countryman with the wooden trim. Over 100,000 were manufactured through the 1960s.
The bottle ovens in the distance are associated with the pot works on Overhouse Street and Greenhead Street in Burslem.
