Description:The camera is looking south east towards Burslem from west of the main railway line at the end of Ravensdale Lane. The water surface of Westport Lake is visible in the left centre with the towers of Talke Chemical Company works in front. The chimney to the left edge belongs to the old blast engine houses alongside the Trent & Mersey Canal. Just in front is the bridge carrying Ravensdale Lane over the main railway line. Just this side of the railway are the beehive tile kilns of Bradwell Wood Tileries (Bentley Tileries).
The buildings of Burslem are on the skyline. The church tower in the centre belonged to St Paul's Burslem (now demolished) and the square tower further to the left belongs to St Joseph's RC church on Hall Street.
