Date:January 1964

Description:The corner of Connaught Street (originally named Albert Street) and Tunstall High Street (on the right).

The Glass & Pottery Company' main premises were just on the corner, at 23 High Street. They were wholesalers and merchants rather than manufacturers. The taller building with the white wall belonged to R Hurst, a newsagent at 27 High Street.

The garage with the round window and Hurst's building behind still survive on Connaught Street. Parked in front of the garage is a Thames 4D van and behind a Bedford removal van.
