Description:A view south towards the main office block of the Michelin Tyre Company. This part of the factory was built in the late 1920s. On the left is the prominent water tower, the first all-reinforced concrete water tower to be built in the United Kingdon. At over 100 feet (30 metres) high the tank held nearly 44,000 gallons (200,000 litres).
Behind and to the right is the cooling tower of the factory power station. The site occupied over 80 acres (over 32 hectares). In the foreground is the original Michelin Athletic Club pavilion and car park. The athletic club site on Campbell Road had a bowling green and tennis courts.
