Date:August 1964

Description:Looking north east along Sideway Road in Boothen from the junction with Campbell Road. On the left is one of the early parts of the Michelin Tyre Company's works offices, built in the late 1920s. This was the main entrance to the factory. The perimeter wall is still intact although the building has been demolished and the site no longer part of the Michelin factory.

On the right, behind the row of bus shelters, was the original site of the Michelin Athletic Club which is now a housing estate. Immediately behind the hedge was a bowling green. The higher ground in the background is Penkhull, with the spire of St Thomas' Church visible.
