Description:This view of St. Peter's Church, Stoke-on-Trent is from Church Street. The arches in the foreground are the ruins of a Saxon and a later twelfth century church. The remains of the medieval church were scattered and used as building stone in Boothen Mill. They were returned to the churchyard in the late 1880s and used to produce this reconstruction of the arches in the nave. It is now a listed building.
Indistinctly, in front of the arches can be seen the grave of Josiah Wedgwood I. Behind the arches is the tower of St Peter Ad Vincula (St Peter in Chains), known also as Stoke Minster.
