Description:A view of the side of Bilton's Pottery in Foden Street, Boothen, Stoke-on-Trent. The photographer (Bert Bentley) captioned the photo "Potters at lunch break". Are there cricketers in their whites? The pottery fronted onto London Road.
Biltons were manufacturers of of low- to mid-price earthenware tablewares of traditional design. The company was founded in 1900, was the subject of several mergers and takeovers but always kept the Bilton name alive until going into liquidation in 1999.
The site of the works has been redeveloped as the West End retirement village and offices by Staffordshire Housing Association.
