Description:The farmhouse was a "commodious and conveniently arranged dwelling house" with associated farm buildings which was part of the 200 acre Blurton Waste Farm. The three-storey house was on Tilery Lane and, in the 1919 Trentham Estate Sale Catalogue, described as adjacent to Trentham Railway Station and with good access to the main Trentham to Longton road. The house had nine bedrooms and one bathroom. Part of the farm was leased to the corporation at the end of the 19th century by the Duke of Sutherland to help with a sewage disposal problem. A sewage works was built on the farm, although the farm continued as a working farm.
