Description:Old cottages by the milestone on Uttoxeter Road, Normacot. All The dwellings that we see here lasted another 30 to 35 years after the photograph was taken before they were demolished to make way for the new Trunk road. The mile post just behind the parked vehicle stood opposite No 315 Uttoxeter Rd. The mile post was saved and reinstalled in almost the same spot when this stretch of the A50 was completed and opened in 1997. It stands between the Uttoxeter Road and Pitsford Street Link Road.
