Description:Earthenware jug and bowls.Height of jug 110mm.Banding was used either on its own or in conjunction with other types of decoration. A slip-bottle was filled with slip and the opening sealed with a clay plug, through which a quill was pushed. The potter blew through the spout of the slip-bottle producing a trail of slip onto the pot. The potter then built up the decoration with rows of parallel bands. The jug and bowls were excavated at Burslem Market Place in 1998.
