Description:Pearlware dark blue printed plate with transfer printed illustrartion of the State House, Boston. Diameter 245mm. This pattern is based on a sketch by Dobbins, 'Boston Common in 1804'. The corner-stone of the Boston State House was laid in 1795 by the Governor, Samuel Adams. The State House was made of brick, with wooden columns in front. The dome was painted yellow and the walls were coloured to imitate Portland stone.
