Description:Pearlware portrait bust, height 235mm.George Frederick Handel (1685-1759) was a German-born composer, resident in England. His works include 'Messiah' and 'Water Music'. Eight years before he died he became blind and relied upon his friend and copyist John Christopher Smith to commit his music to paper.This bust of Handel is impressed on the base 'Ra. Wood Burslem'.
