Description:Common Centaury is an annual that frequents dry banks, wood clearings, gravel pits and other open places on sandstone heaths.
Flowering between June and October, it can grow to a height of 15cm.
This example was found growing at Springpool Woods, near Keele in Staffordshire, by Keith Goodway.
