Description:This plant frequents dry banks, woodland clearings, gravel pits and other open places on sandstone heaths.

Flowering between June and October, it can grow up to 15cm in height.

This example was found growing at Springpool Woods near Keele in Staffordshire, by local naturalist Keith M. Goodway in September 1965.
