Description:Station porter at Consall wearing the uniform of the North Staffordshire Railway.

The North Staffordshire Railway operated between 1845 and 1923, when it became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.

Consall Station closed in 1965, before the wooden buildings fell into disrepair. Finally, the platforms were removed in the 1980s. The small waiting room on the "up" line actually overhung the Caldon Canal because of shortage of space.

The station has now been recreated as part of the Churnet Valley Railway, a heritage railway, visitor attraction and museum.
