Description:At the Roe-Buck in Newcastle a group of prominent men have gathered to discuss the plans for new branch canals connecting Hanley, Shelton, Burslem and Lane End.

The men include local pottery manufacturers Enoch Wood and Thomas Wedgwood.

The next step

A further meeting will take place on Thursday 2 June to discuss the findings of a fresh land survey to be carried out by Mr. Henshall.

Potters, gentlemen and anybody with an interest in the scheme are urged to attend.
