Description:Botanical study of the Primula Vulgaris undertaken in 1920.

The flowers were picked near to Thor's Cave at Manifold valley, Staffordshire, by Miss E.M. Blake. They are part of a botanical study looking at the differences of plant corollas from one year to the next. This study was undertaken by Elizabeth Blake, William Blake's sister, and details were reported to North Staffordshire Field Club meetings.

Longton photographer William Blake was member of the North Staffs Field Club, a group of dedicated naturalists. Blake was the club librarian for a number of years.
