Description:A font designed by George Gilbert Scott for the Church of the Ressurection, Dresden, built in 1863. The band of red Minton tiles below the rim has the inscription ‘I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins’.
The Church of the Resurrection was built on land given by the Duke of Sutherland in 1853, to designs by George Gilbert Scott. It stands on Red Bank in Dresden, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. It was extended in 1863 and by Charles Lynam in 1873. the chancel was enlarged by J.H. Beckett in 1903.
