Description:The camera is looking east along Longton Road from its junction with Stone Road (A34) just outside Trentham Gardens. Just off the left hand edge of the photograph are the three grade II listed cottages at Ash Green. The white house in the foreground still stands although the shop and petrol station beyond have been demolished. The tall square structure in the centre, seemingly at the end of the road, was the concrete winding tower at Hem Heath Colliery.
Once controlled by traffic lights, the junction has been redesigned as a roundabout also giving access to Trentham Gardens (immediately behind the camera).
