Description:This photograph was taken from the Trent Vale Brick and Tile Works on Rookery Lane looking southwards towards the higher ground of Trentham Gardens. In the centre foreground is the estate of prefabricated houses built between 1945 and 1951. Immediately behind them is St Teresa's Roman Catholic Church on Stone Road.
On the skyline in the distance on the ridge are the umbrella trees in Trentham Gardens (sometimes called the Seven Sisters or Elephant Clump). The line of the M6 link road is just visible in the centre of the photograph which was taken before the building of the Hanford Flyover. The houses in Hanford are on the left.
The open land in the foreground became part of the Michelin Tyre Company factory and later a distribution centre.
