Description:The photograph was taken from close to the corner of Sturgess Street and Bath Terrace in Stoke. Until the 1950s Sturgess Street was called Edward Street. These houses in the top part of Sturgess Street and Bath Terrace were built between 1880 and 1900, although the lower part of the street is older. In the centre the tower of Stoke Minster appears above the roofs and beyond is the spoilt tip of Berryhill Colliery.
