Description:Lonsdale Primitive Methodist Chapel was opened in 1878, replacing an earlier and smaller chapel in Queen Street. It was located at the corner of Lonsdale Street and Woodhouse Street. It was to perform marriages in 1890. The chapel could seat over 350, but by the late 1950s, the congregation had fallen to below 100. It has since been demolished and the site is now occupied by offices of Sanctuary Social Housing.
