Description:In the entrance hall alcove was this wall painting: "Read that you may learn". The library was one of over 600 free public libraries built in the UK with money from the Andrew Carnegie Trust. Andrew Carnegie was an American business man, with Scottish roots, who made his money in the United States steel industry. His trust financed over 2500 libraries around the world between 1893 and 1929.The library in Fenton opened in 1906.
