Description:The design on this Coalport dish is based on ‘Indian Tree’, an engraving from 1801.
Founded in Shropshire in about 1795, Coalport moved to Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent in 1926 after the company was acquired by Cauldon Potteries. It then moved to the Crescent Works in Stoke-on-Trent, and again to Fenton in 1955. In 1967 Coalport became part of the Wedgwood Group and in 1985 moved to the Minerva Works in Park Street, Fenton. In 2000 production moved to the Wedgwood factory site in Barlaston.
