Description:View from near the top of Aquinas Street down towards Epworth Street and the centre of Stoke. Aquinas Street was originally called Thomas Street. Behind the wall beyond the houses on the left was a large garden with a drop down to the Register Offices at 80 High St, later renamed 15 Hartshill Road. Beyond the garden wall is an electricity sub-station which still stands (October 2022). The terraced houses on the left have also been demolished. Opposite the wall, on the right hand side can be seen the entrance arch to the Quakers' burial ground, lower down from the Quaker Chapel. The graveyard was retained when the area was redeveloped. The other larger houses on the right hand side have been demolished.
